Cover Song

This is the original song, "We Found Love", by Rihanna

This is the cover song, "We Found Love", by Tyler Ward

Rihanna's music has always been very provocative. Although this song is a little more subtle the her usual, I still take this song and the cover I posted a little differently. The cover is so much more of a love song and romantic. It's almost kind of sad. I like the cover more just because I more into the alternative genres then I am pop. So I think in a sense, Tyler Ward changed the meaning of Rihanna's song just be changing the genre. The lyrics are fantastic though, don't get me wrong. It is ironic because it's so different and thats why I dont think this song is a  tribute at ll because it differs so much from Rihanna's original

#Bradying

This commercial came early in the game. I thought it had to be one of the funniest and it was kind of a good ploy to get people to buy Chevy trucks. It starts after the end of the world occured and all you see in a Chevy Silverado driving out of all of the wreckage. A few men in there Chevys meet up and someone asks where their other friend is, another said that he drove a ford. It's just funny because it slams another car company.

This one was just funny because the male owner sees the dog burying the cat and the dog, to shut his master up from telling his wife, bribes him with doritos, which works.

Literacy In All It's Forms

I think this movie was a good example of what different types of literacy is. These kids were terrible students with terrible grades and test scores. When their teacher started getting them to write about their own lives, well that was when things started to flourish. Writing doesn't have to be purely academic. In this case it was more of a creative piece or narrative about their lives. Each students journal was compiled into a book, which at one point hit the best sellers list. I think we can all agree that books play a role in literacy and that's why I think the movie "Freedom Writers" exemplifies literacy.

I Love LAM(p)

Lam here, reporting from Ohio University. Wow, technology sure is booming here. It's interesting how fast and easy it can be. I just witnessed a girl in 9inch heels stumbling down Court St. after a long drunken night on Palmer St. You should see the streets lined with interested students watching her.

Buzz Buzz Buzz (phone alert)

Oh and look here, I just got tagged in a YouTube video of this girl. It took approximately three minutes to post this video to the internet for the whole world to see and the video was taken by an ordinary hungover college student. He'll be famous if this video goes viral.

My question is though, why do people think this is funny and why is this public internet appropriate?
One student answers my question, "Because it's funny dude!"

I'm not going to use his answer as an explanation but I do think it's because in this 21st century of technology, we have all lost our sense of apathy. We don't see this girl walking down the street junk as a sad and embarrassing scene for her but as an opportunity to continuously be connected no matter the content.

I think there needs to be an intervention, a whole world-wide-web intervention

Lam reporting from the Athens post, over and out.
